When Mzisa Khmaladze was growing up, her family would gather herbs from the fields in Ninotsminda, a town in Georgia's Javakheti region.

"Since that time, I couldn'tstop thinking that I should do something with the many herbs we have at home," the 22-year-old says.

So she started Rund Tea, which sells teas made with herbs like thyme, dogrose, and berries, reports the BBC.

Khmaladze says neighbors were skeptical when she first pitched her idea: "Why do you need this business? What should you do when you get married? Your husband will not let you do it," she says.

Khmaladze says she decided to take advantage of a project funded by the European Union that aims to help young people in the border regions of Georgia and Armenia "develop the entrepreneurial potential of young people living in the border regions of Georgia and Armenia, improve their skills in social entrepreneurship and green innovations, and promote their employment."

Khmaladze is the youngest female entrepreneur in Ninotsminda.
