  2. Social impact influences civil society organizations that capitalize on online dialogue on hot topics

  4. Education and empowerment play big roles in social impact
  5. Social media is changing the face of today's society in many ways


Macharia also offered advice for organizations that shun social media for social impact since he believes that social media contributes to behavioral change. He also raised concerns about social media addiction and breach of data.

That said, according to Macharia, there is no denying the impact of online communities in getting the public involved.
