The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will name scientists from around the world, mostly in the United States, who will be getting $100,000 Grand Challenges Exploration grants to see if their highly speculative ideas have potential to save lives in the future.
Chris Wilson, director of Global Health Discovery and Translational Sciences at the Gates Foundation said that the Grand Challenges program aims to expand the pipeline of idea with creative, unorthodox thinking.
