The University of Texas at Austin's RGK Center for Philanthropy and Community Service has put together a map on crowd sourcing. It is a collaboration with social enterprise accelerator UnLtd USA. The map shows organizations and players in the sector and how they are connected.
The map was created with data from UnLtd USA and by Mark Clayton Hand, a UT Austin assistant professor and lecturer Clare Zutz. It displays people and organizations and connects them to represent their relationships. Users can add information about their own organizations and then interact with the map.
The RGK Center thinks the project will add to the research regarding social innovation in Austin. It is an interesting use crowdsourcing as a method for social network analysis. Zutz will analyze the data and reveal his findings at the 2016 International Network for Social Network Analysis conference in April.
