The American Heart Association is teaming up with a startup to develop a way for patients to check their cholesterol levels in the comfort of their homes, the New York Times reports.
The Innovators' Network, a health care technology consortium, will work with ixlayer, a startup that has developed a digital platform for biopharma companies to deploy at-home cholesterol tests.
The association's digital guidelines, recommendations, and "best-in-class science" will help the group "develop and scale innovative digital healthcare technologies," ixlayer says in a press release.
ixlayer plans to use its platform to help biopharma companies easily deploy at-home cholesterol tests, which remain the leading cause of death in the US, per a press release.
