Founders Pledge Creating A New Social Movement

London-based Founders Pledge, a young philanthropic organization, is using a hyper-efficient giving-forwards model to attract high tech entrepreneurs as "Pledgers."

100 percent of its proceeds are going to charity. The value of a donation is a fixed percentage of a future wealth of a member.

To date, 1,250 entrepreneurs have signed up pledging nearly $2 billion in share value.

For each $1 billion in share value created by the community members, there is a minimum $20 million donation committed to charity.

The organization, led by social entrepreneur David Goldberg, has recently grown from the U.K. to 26 countries, opening new offices in New York and San Francisco.
