The Power of Social Innovation

The talk was given at a TEDx event in Milwaukee, and was independently produced by the TED Conferences. Jeff Snell, social innovator and changemaker, argues that the problem in the charitable sector is not that it doesn't have enough charities, but rather that many of them are not sustainable.

Snell advises that we need to stop managing problems and start solving them to make a huge impact. He emphasizes that social innovation is the key to reshaping cities and societies.

Based on his executive experiences in the nonprofit sector, Jeff believes that conventional American charity is backwards.

His solution is offering and promoting social innovation as a cross-sector platform for solutions to social problems, not more management of them.
