The MacArthur Foundation announced 18 grants, which amount to $9 million dollars to improve voting in the United States. The grants are specifically to address access to voting, modernizing voting systems and decreasing the influence of big money on elections.
MacArthur is attempting to address the view that the American political system has failed to address issues that are paramount to the nation.
