GSK in partnership with the Triangle Community Foundation announced $1 million, 2-year GSK IMPACT Grant awarded to Fostering Wellness. Fostering Wellness is an initiative of 7 non-profits aimed at supporting youth aging out of foster care. The group of non-profits will connect 500 youth with mentors and employment opportunities in the food industry.
Approximately 1,400 youth in foster care in Wake, Durham and Orange counties will not be adopted or reunited by the time they are 18. The GSK Impact Grant is one of several charitable programs aimed at providing guidance to youth without mentors. Fostering Wellness is the fourth GSK IMPACT Grant recipient. This follows great work already underway in Denver, CO; Philadelphia, PA; and East St. Louis, IL.
