The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation provided $821,276 Transportation Alternatives Program grants to the Nicholson Tourism Center at the Historic Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad Station.
The grants will help fund the rehabiliation of the 1849 railroad station. According to Marion Sweet, chair of the Nicholson Heritage Association, the grants "will deliver our vision of preserving this historic station, one of very few left from this bygone era, and reuse it as a tourism center and a place for community events."
