The Common Good Community Foundation awarded $8,600 grants to local nonprofit organizations to fund a nonworking heater, supplies for a aquaculture class, a theater program and support for court-appointed special advocate (CASA) volunteers.

The foundation, which aims to improve the condition of community residents, renders funding in these specific areas: the arts, education, senior services, health care and animal welfare.
