The North Freedom Elementary School has received funding to construct a shelter that offers shade and protection for children who are playing, exercising and learning outdoors.
The school is built on a prairie where there's no shelter from any weather conditions. Last summer, school district carpenters commenced the building of a shelter, funded in part through a $2,000 Healthy Community Partnership Grant from the St. Clare Health Care Foundation.
