CNN Hails Its 2014 Hero: Robyn Benincasa

San Diego firefighter, Robyn Benincasa, was named as CNN's Hero of the Year.

Her medical challenges of having her hips replaced insoired her to start the nonprofit Project Athena Foundation to help women who have had serious medical troubles fulfill their dreams as part of their recovery. Benincasa asserts that whie she's honored to be proclaimed a CNN hero, the "Athenas (Survivors) who reach their recovery goal of a Project Athena adventure are the true heroes."
