Whole Kids Foundation Awards Grants for School Gardens

The Whole Kids Foundation, in cooperation with FoodCorps, has selected two Maui-based schools, Kihei Elementary and Kihei Charter School, to receive grants of $2000 each to build or expand upon community and school gardens.

In addition to providing funds, the grant recipients will receive a copy of "How to Grow a School Garden" by Arden Bucklin-Sporer and Rachel Pringle, a digital garden kit, seed packages from High Mowing Organics, discounts for gardening supplies and ongoing opportunities for mentoring and support from FoodCorps, to help them build and sustain their gardens and ensure long-term success.
