The Metairie Park Country Day School has been awarded a Edward E. Ford Foundation Educational Leadership Grant valued at $250,000 as one of four independent schools in the country to receive the grant. Head of School Carolyn Chandler said it will be used to create a New Orleans Scholars Program.
The school raise $250,000 in matching funds to receive the money and will be used to create a program that will equip high school juniors and seniors with knowledge and skills to become future leaders in New Orleans.
