The Santa Barbara Independent reports that the Santa Barbara Foundation distributed $15 Million in grants to 1,700 nonprofits in 2011.
Human services organizations received the most grants with 41 of the grants awarded. Youth development and education agencies were awarded 30 percent of the awards.
The foundation also made a significant commitment to training and development programs for nonprofit and community leaders.
