Schwab Foundation recognizes social innovators around the world

Eleven social innovators from around the world were were named for coming up with ideas from waste management to child labor by the Klaus Schwab's foundation. The same professor that founded World Economic Forum set up Schwab Foundation in 1998. Some of the awardees were Poonam Bir Kasturi, who founded Daily Dump, Nina Smith who founded GoodWeave International that works to prevent child labour in countries like India, Afghanistan and Nepal.

No financial grant will be given to the winners, they will have the opportunity to work with over 320 entrepreneurs from 70 different countries. This is an chance for them to interact with leaders in business, the civil society and the government.

Some of the benefits for the awardees is that they get to be part of the World Economic Forum, receive pro-bono consulting and legal advice. Also they get to attend executive education courses at Harvard Business School and INSEAD.
