HHS awards more than $3 Million to Michigan health centers to help treat substance use

Opioids are a dangerous and addictive substance. There are millions of people here in the use who use opioids (heroin and prescription drugs alike). Thankfully the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HSS) have recognized this problem and have given 10 Michigan Health Centers more then three million dollars in funding.

With this funding Health Centers can help put an end to opioid misuse and abuse. With the grant funding Michigan Health Centers can treat patients instead of giving outside referrals. They will be able to increase staff and patient care quality.

Pain killer misuse results in more overdoses and related deaths every year. This is an epidemic in our community. Michigan Health Centers can now help curb this issue.
