A California high school student, Laiken Shaw, has organized fundraisers for many charities. Now she is going to Kenya to see what her work has accomplished.
Furahara Community Foundation which is helped by When I Grow Up a non profit, for which Shaw works. Furahara Community Foundation is a foundation that helps the needy children in Huruma,Kenya providing education and other services.
The foundation also serves food to over 500 elementary students and over 200 high school students. Laiken Shaw is going to donate some of the money she was awarded in winning the Violet Richardson award.
