The Indonesian district of Banyuwangi has come up with a novel way to encourage its residents to live a healthy life: healthy food.

The district has set up "healthy people's mall" locations at public health centers, where residents can pick up healthy food from vendors and have it delivered to them, reports the Jakarta Post.

Health Minister Budi Gunadi praised the initiative on Saturday, saying it will " motivate residents to adopt a healthy lifestyle," perANTARA.

About 60% of visitors to the top 10 public health centers in Banyuwangi in 2022 were healthy, while 40% were sick, says district head Ipuk Fiestiandani.

That means that awareness of healthy living has grown, she says, adding that residents regularly visit the health centers even when they're not ill.
