That's why the online food ordering and delivery company is donating $1 million to the American Heart Association to help fight heart disease in Chicago and New York City through 2024, the Chicago Tribune reports.
The money will go to the association's Social Impact Funds, which focus on issues related to food security and economic development.
Last year, one in five Chicago Metro area households and one in four households with children were considered food insecure, per the press release.
"Our mission to end cardiovascular disease is directly tied to addressing its root causes including social determinants of health," Brittany Walsh, region senior vice president and executive director for the American Heart Association in Chicago, says in the press release.
Interested parties are invited to submit an expression of interest through April 25, 2024.
