To protect and counsel unaccompanied immigrant child refugees on sexual violence they have experienced, philanthropy can play a key role by supporting nonprofit legal service providers and the recruitment of pro bono attorneys.

Funders should also consider supporting expanded access to independent child advocates to ensure that the system regards the "best interest" of children facing deportation. Training for immigration judges and asylum officers to decide unaccompanied immigrant children's cases should also be considered.
