Philanthropy Can Play a Role in International Peace

Philanthropic efforts are known to influence the overhaul of the health care system. However, it is less known to the public that it plays a role in producing a nuclear arms-control treaty between the U.S. and Russia.

The treaty that requires each country to reduce its nuclear weapons arsenals 30 percent by 2020 or more than 1,000 warheads combined was signed last week.
