The Arts Alive Foundation, sponsored by PNC Bank, has selected seven worthy organizations to receive grants totaling $250,000. An endeavor that has been carried out for the last seven years, the Arts Alive grants are a boon to the arts community of Ohio.
Selected on a competitive basis, receipt of a grant indicates the applicant offers a new or unique approach in the arts. Recipients of this year's awards are: CACTCO, $35,000; New Albany Symphony, $25,000; BalletMet, $40,000; Carpe Diem String Quartet, $20,000; Columbus Museum of Art, $45,000; Central Ohio Symphony, $20,000; ProMusica Chamber Orchestra, $37,500; and Pizzuti Collection, $27,500.
Ohio is greatly enriched by this corporate philanthropy to the arts. For example, the Columbus Museum of Art will utilize this grant to continue its offering of free admission days.
