Just because you are considered "a senior," does not mean that your life is over. Many seniors want to continue to live as active a life as they possibly can. This is where Debbie Poirier, 62, of Glace Bay, comes in. She has knowledge in keeping people active as she is a retired physiotherapy assistant.
Debbie has begun many activities in her community to aid seniors with activity. One such activity is walking photography. This was facilitated through a grant in which enabled her to buy cameras and other equipment. She has also started chair yoga and line dancing. One other class that was offered is that of grocery bingo. Debbie hopes to add more programs as funding comes in such as oil painting classes.
