Australia has a very unique and growing system for NFP (Not-For-Profits) in it's country. Overtime, they have found that through investing in NFP's in their communities; the quality of life for people (e.g. keeping kids out of foster care). It has helped some families live better and do better. The financial investment in at least one NFP has provided a safe-haven for many children , and the family unit was still held in tact.
According to the article, this is a prime time for the Not for Profit sector to grow. The government, communities, and people are collectively recognizing the services they provide and the good they yield. Therefore, people are now seeking to make "impact investment" that make a tangible impact. The NFP provide the communities and people they serve with a service the government simply can not do; however, they have been found to do it well.
