The Smithville Education Foundation is providing local students and teachers with funds in an effort to bridge the gap between schools and the community.

District superintendent Rock McNulty notes that it's crucial for the local community to have an education foundation because it fills in the spaces where school projects are funded - projects that the district does not have the means to afford.
