Summer Enrichment Program Expands Horizons for Youth

A total of 80 students at Arnold Elementary School in Lincoln's Air Park neighborhood participated in the Expanding Horizons summer enrichment program, which is a program aimed at enriching the lives of less fortunate individuals, especially children.

The program was established, thanks is part to a generous donation of $7,000 from the Viking Foundation. According to Dayna Krannawitter, coordinator of the Arnold School Community Learning Center (CLC) and Carol Yoakum Family Resource Center (FRC), most students walk or ride bikes to the summer classes due to parents working and other factors, so having the program in their own neighborhood is beneficial.
