Hospice of the Valley Garners Grants To Aid Dementia Care

The BHHS Legacy Foundation provided $200,000 grants to the Hospice of the Valley for a Palliative Care for Dementia program that serves to improve the quality of life for people with dementia and their family caregivers.

Program services include "home visits from dementia educators; 24/7 phone access to a nurse or social worker; phone consultations with Gillian Hamilton, MD, VP/education and innovation for Hospice of the Valley; and respite time for family caregivers provided by trained volunteers."
