Trust of Erie's Hirt leaves as much as $550K to individual charities

The Benedictine Sisters of Erie, Hamot Medical Center and the Erie Community Foundation are among the local charities that are due to receive the most money from the trust of a late Erie philanthropist.

Hirt, whose father-in-law cofounded Erie Insurance Group, also left significant amounts of money to 37 other charities, most of them in Erie County.
