Scots Businessman Dedicates International Philanthropy Award to His Father

Scots entrepreneur Tom Hunter, who spawned a sports retail empire and sold it for £290 million in 1998, honored his "hero and inspiration" at a ceremony at the Scottish Parliament where he received the Carnegie Medal of Philanthropy.

According to Sir Tom, his father had taught him the value of "giving back" in his childhood in New Cumnock, East Ayrshire.
