Indian Philanthropist $2.3 Billion to Charitable Trust

Indian business magnate and philanthropist Azim Premji awards almost $2.3 billion worth of shares in his Wipro Company to his charitable arm, Azim Premji Foundation.

The Azim Premji Foundation supports learning programs in rural Indian communities and runs a university for the underprivileged. The share donations are his second gift to the Foundation following the 2010 $1.95 billion contribution.
