$1.3 Million from Maddie's Fund of the Pet Rescue Foundation

The Maddie's Fund of the Pet Rescue Foundation has given $1.3 million in Community Lifesaving Awards in recognition of the 94 percent community-wide save rate for dogs and cats entering Washoe County animal shelters in 2010 and 2011.

The recipients are: Pet Network Humane Society ($100,000), SPCA of Northern Nevada ($200,000), Washoe County Regional Animal Services ($200,000) and the Nevada Humane Society ($800,000) to be used for the care of animals.
