The speakers and attendees of the McHenry County Community Foundation's Grants Gala Celebration has discussed the major role of philanthropy in the struggling economy.

The discussion was headlined by a presentation by the president and chief executive officer of the Chicago Community Trust, Terry Mazany, the 2012 gala brought together more than 50 McHenry County Organizations that were awarded by grants.
