The late Dr. Frank Carney was recognized by the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies, along with the Cambria County Medical Society, Conemaugh Health System, Windber Medical Center and Lee Initiatives, as the recipient of the 12th annual Apollo Award.

The Apollo award recognizes a member of the medical community who has made significant contributions to improving the quality of life and is designed to encourage and acknowledge participation by the medical community in initiatives that go beyond the health care professional's normal scope of work.
