New Director of AmeriCorps

William C. Basl, the executive director of Washington Commission for National and Community Service, has been appointed as a director of the national-service program called the AmeriCorps.

He was the head of the commission that manages the programs of AmeriCorps in Washington for 18 years and founded a state youth-service program called Washington Service Corps.
