The Walton Family Foundation has awarded a grant amounting to nearly $21.5 million in three home region initiatives namely Arkansas Education Reform, Northwest Arkansas and Delta region of Arkansas and Mississippi. The grant will be used to support programs that measurably improve the quality of life as well as to create cultural, educational and economic opportunities.
Arkansas Education Reform received $8, 269,055 which will be used to improve accountability, transparency, choice and incentives in the state’s schools. Northwest Arkansas has granted $7849,127 in order to support community, economic and educational initiatives. Delta Region of Arkansas and Mississippi received $5,366,917 which will be used for economic development and community-based strategies.
