Charity as a Defense for Alleged Insider Trading?

According to Wall Street Journal's Chad Bray, lawyers of Rajat Gupta will be on trial next week for the alleged insider trading.

The lawyers reportedly want to demonstrate that philanthropy is inconsistent with charges that he is motivated with greed.

Gupta, former CEO of McKinsey and Company, is charged with providing inside information to Galleon Group hedge-fnd founder.
