Seventy nonprofit organizations try to raise $200,000 in a 24-hour period of online giving with the event called "Spring2ACTion Alexandria" which encourages donors of all income levels to give $10 or more to a local charity online.
Tracy Viselli, community manager of Action Alexandria, which hosts the event with ACT for Alexandria says that this system is a great way for them to raise money because they're a smaller community, and it helps nonprofits engage in online giving and social media.
