Two Big Country colleges were awarded large grants Monday from federal stimulus dollars meant to help boost educational opportunities for students entering the area’s most in-demand occupations — especially wind energy.
Ranger College was awarded $202,182 for equipment for its new wind energy technician program, kicking off in the fall.
The Foundation at Western Texas College in Snyder was awarded $227,500 to help low-income students with tuition, fees, and books.
