A recent grant from the Ethics and Excellence in Journalism Foundation has been awarded to ASU's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism. It will help fund the Edith Kinney Gaylord News Innovation Initiative, which seeks new ways of teaching journalism, such as social media and a partnership with PBS. The Initiative serves approximately 120 students.

It will also create a partnership between students of ASU's Cronkite School and students at the Gaylord College of Journalism at the University of Oklahoma, utilizing video conferences and collaborative projects to allows students to work together.

This grant has also made possible the hiring of a new professor, Jennifer Pucci, who specializes in analytics and engagement. Faculty from the two schools, as well as administrators from the EEJF, have high hopes that this grant will help students learn to create engaging content for the new age of digital journalism.
