Teaching drama, building lives: The Anthony Bean Community Theater

credit: PRWeb

An article revolves around the importance of Anthony Bean Community Theater which is an African American theater in the city. This center for the past 10 years was known as the first theater that was able to study and practice theater arts in the New Orleans area. The artistic director Anthony Bean sets out to build confidence in the individuals by incorporating expressions through blues that will allow the students to convey feelings they may not be so willing to share on their own.

Bean is losing the theater, but has found a new location. It needs a lot of work due to it being a location that was hit by Hurricane Katrina. Bean does not let this destroy his dreams as he plans to continue working using portable buildings until he regains his support to help him revive and create the new Anthony Bean Community Theater.
